In this video tutorial, you will learn the basics of using Google SketchUp to draw a basic house shape.

  1. Open Google SketchUp from your Desktop or Start Menu.
  2. Click Choose a Template
  3. Select Simple-Feet and Inches
  4. Click Start Using SketchUp
  5. (If a window pops up and asks to update the software, click Remind Me Later)
  6. Close the Instructor box if it's there, you won't need it.
  7. Right click on the person standing in your window and hide or delete.
  8. Start the video and follow along with the instructor.

  9. Your house must be exactly like the one in the tutorial to get a 100 on this tutorial.

  10. When your house is done, click file, save as, save to the appropriate place on the network as House1xx and replace the xx with your initials.  Submit the .skp file to Canvas for grading by clicking the Submit Assignment button in the upper right hand corner of this window.
